Our Story
Since the first problems were reported in the early 2000’s in Michigan, I have been following the westward progression of the Emerald Ash Borer. Through periodic updates from the USDA, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, I saw that the pest was eventually going to be a significant foe in our urban landscape and natural forests. As a golf course superintendent with over 1,000 trees on the property (400 ash trees) it was imperative that I stay abreast of any new treatments or practices available for the control of the bug. In my research and observations, it’s been clear that trunk injection with Tree-age (Emamectin Benzoate) is the best weapon in our arsenal.
After retiring from the golf course, I established Woodland Enterprises LLC to provide businesses, property managers, farmers and homeowners with an option to save their trees from EAB. With over fifty years of experience in the management of turf, landscapes, and trees, I have the background and knowledge to help you determine the best option for your trees.
I have a degree from the University of Minnesota in Horticulture, am a Certified Golf Course Superintendent, am a licensed pesticide applicator in Minnesota and South Dakota, and have participated in professional training from the Arborjet team. I take great care in working closely with owners and managers to determine the best option for their trees, and make sure that every application is done correctly.
